Dispozitivul detecteaza automat semnalul de intrare si manevreaza conversia bazat pe setarile DIP switch selectate de catre utilizator. Convertorul pastreaza o cale de procesare pe 10 biti continua pentru semnal, ceea ce minimizeaza problemele cauzate de scalare. Decimator 2 are incorporata o intrare SDI ce sustine semnale de pana la 3G-SDI si beneficiaza de o iesire SDI loop through, o iesire HDMI pentru semnalul convertit si o iesire compozit ce scaleaza automat semnalul HD livrand format fie NTSC, fie PAL. Iesirea HDMI poate afisa frame markeri selectabili sau "graticule", precum si pana la 16 canale de monitorizare audio. In plus, dispozitivul face de-embedare pentru audio din semnalul SDI si il face disponibil ca 2 canale de audio analogic. Butoanele externe ii permit utilizatorului sa selecteze felul in care unitatea face conversia la HDMI sau SD din SDI, si ce pereche stereo este disponibila pe iesirea audio analogica.
